The work of Luis V. Cogley, in shape, materials, ideas and color, breathes the sweet scent of freedom. Walking
by the sidewalks of his world is to abandon conventional standards and prejudices an to stand at a vantage point from
which we can see all that can be achieved by the will and the hands of one man.
Luis V. Cogley was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1946. He belongs to a family who taught him to create and develop his own world of ideas. This world owed its inspiration to mother nature, to bird and branch, fruit and insect, butterflies and clouds. And these ideas evolved into a personal style, fresh and new, innovative. It is a mysterious, unbelievable world, on which there is a reason for everything found there. It is a special world that exists; nested inside yet another, unique, different, surpassing any work of science fiction ever imagined on stage or screen. His work is a mix between the real and unreal. Everything is bright, with color, with forms that are beautifully designed, and at times with a childlike simplicity. All metal made, his designs are free in theri interpretation but always bear in mind the pure ideal. "Orginality lies in returning to the origin" expresses the artist. And by origins he means beginnings. In this case, the birth of a style peculiarly his own, yet with pronounced liberty of expression.
